spam and privacy
for ppl not wanting to have their data sold: it’s too late. privacy is a losing fight. technology is a winning one.
you’re just misinformed of all tech platforms already having your data. the “where did you get my data?” days are over. you and a couple of bureaucrats are fighting against billions of bots.
Yes, Europe and Canada mostly opted out, but they opted out of a win+win judicious cycle. Developed countries spammers don’t give shits to your country laws, they’ll still email you. The smart outreachers won’t risk themselves. The result: Canada and EU are only getting sucky outreach instead of getting smartreach. Worse than if they didn’t have laws. Govt ppl won’t figure this out though.
maybe soon you’ll have an AI protecting you. the law can’t protect you, is the point. they never could. Govts are limited against the beast that is the world wide web.
and what do you care about your privacy if you have nothing to loose? humanity needs more transparency. secrecy moats don’t scale and fuel billion dollar win-loose empires.
open source all that. get over your fears.
