The American Dream
the greatest thing America had was the “american dream”, the knowledge that anyone could make it.
some folks took this mentality to heart too much and made money their only objectives. One of these “someone” took the presidency over a country, threatening to rip it (and the world) apart.
what the american dream needs is a spice of “do good” (won’t use the S word here). This would be equal to social entrepreneurship. Doing a lot of money while doing a lot of good. Problem solved.
Now, for title challengers, what they need is this dream, this vision that anyone can make it. 50% + of my family being mexican, I can tell you that the poor mentality is quite prominent there. Very few chances of making a country great. “Save up” and “diploma/9-to-5” mentalities are the “at best” there.
It’s the third world country curse. A curse that was avoided by settlers/colonist that were, by nature, ambitious risk-takers. Niching down into colonialism vs. the independence mindset vs. human success, you can compare the “by the queen” loyalist in Canada vs. US colonies. Check the results between both countries. Compare fortunes being made, innovation, good per capita of US vs. Canada.
